Super Woman

We made a tour across Canada for about 30 shows. We have seen a lot of motels from coast to coast. But it was a very nice stay at Bridgeview Bed & Breakfast . Good breakfast , beds and Christmas cookie after the show.
The house is right on the banks of the Red River. Even a look of snow and a snowmobile peek. It feels like home! Louise is our Super Woman and we will be back next year.

Beautiful B and B
This is a gorgeous little Bed and Breakfast only minutes from beautiful Clearwater Provincial Park. Kelly and Anisa and their children (and dog) are the perfect hosts. Beautiful self contained space and amazing homemade breakfast treats. Very quiet and private yet accessible to the main highway. Highly recommend this place, a really gem.
Very Peaceful Stay

We were in Swan Lake for one week and found this B & B through the B&B website. We really enjoyed staying here. It is an easy 10-15 minute drive to Swan Lake (or to Somerset or Treherne) so it is “central” in a sense that you can get to all the towns in the area from her place. Jana’s place is literally an oasis in the middle of the farmland. It’s gravel road and you turn into her driveway and there’s a lovely maintained lawn, rustic barn, a teepee, and the house. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool because it wasn’t warm enough yet but we ate a meal on the deck.
Jana used to own and run a restaurant and her breakfasts are incredible. The menu is vast–from Eggs Benedict, omelettes, and farmer style breakfasts to oatmeal and continental. We never left hungry and all of her meals were tasty. It was a treat to wake up and have breakfast and then go off to work. The rooms were nice and she had an incredible shower with three heads (two regular heads and a rain shower). We did not have an opportunity to take advantage of any of her spa services, but her treatments come highly recommended. A client who visited while we were there swore that Jana’s combination of reflexology and massage completely alleviated her sciatica. We would highly recommend this B and B either for work or a holiday retreat.
Relaxing

We very much enjoyed our stay at Pebble Springs B&B. The hosts were great and so was the food. We would go back in warmer weather, but winter was beautiful. When we wanted to walk to the lake Bob and Monica made sure we were dressed warm and even loaned my husband ski pants.
Thanks for the relaxing weekend.
Truly treated royally at the Castle!

Wow, everything you could want! Amazing detail in this restored castle! And the breakfasts were to die for. Connie was the best host! We’ll be back…
Amazing Home, Amazing People

We had a wonderful weekend stay with hosts Monica and Bob. They went over and above to make us comfortable in their home. They shared their time and knowledge of the area so we could best plan our hiking day trips. Beautiful Belair lakefront. Open space living room with wood stove. A very comfortable bedroom. Local artists work was on on display through out the home. Full gourmet breakfast selection. Hot tub under the stars. We fell in love with Louie the chihauhau and were amazed by Pepi the Amazon parrot. We came because of the beauty of the Lake Winnipeg but will return to Pebble Springs B & B because of its remarkable character and hosts.
Wonderfully relaxing
I stayed 3 nights in early winter 2020. I was welcomed graciously, given a beautiful, extremely clean and comfortable room. I was served a delicious breakfast each morning, would return in a heart beat!
5 Stars – One-of-a-Kind Experience

The description “bed and breakfast” does not do justice to the indulgent sanctuary you will discover if you cross the threshold of Aspen Woodlands B&B. This respite offers a one-of-a-kind experience. I felt transported into a calm, restorative environment. The owner of the B&B – Reinhard and Christine – are so welcoming, friendly, while also respecting the guest’s need for privacy.
The home faces the tranquil Assiniboine Forest where from time to time, you will encounter deer at dusk. The breakfasts are individualized from a selection of healthy and delicious meals. The home is immaculately clean – hardwood floors throughout. The beds are phenomenally comfortable, and dressed with silk duvets that are so light as to be barely noticeable, and yet warming in the winter and cooling in the summer. I have resided here 3 times so far, and I would never consider staying at a Winnipeg hotel after such an outstanding stay at Aspen Woodlands. If Aspen Woodlands B&B were replicated around the globe, I wouldn’t check into a hotel ever again. I entered this experience sight unseen.
I hope this review helps you feel confident and secure in making Aspen Woodlands B&B your “go to” place when you take your next trip to Winnipeg
Gracious hospitality and excellent accommodations!

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate an anniversary and enjoyed it so much! Reinhard and Christine are such gracious hosts and went the extra mile to provide information and make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The accommodations are exceptional in terms of cleanliness, tasteful decor, views from the large windows and privacy. We also enjoyed the hot tub and delicious, beautifully presented breakfast. We can highly recommend this B&B!
Amazing accommodation, hosts and the surrounding area!

Our stay at Pebble Springs BnB was nothing short of remarkable. Bob and Monica are as amazing in hospitability as they are in allowing the guests to feel at “home away from home”. As we were the only guests during the weekend, we had the “whole” place to ourselves. Although very secluded from the highway, their Bnb is very secure and safe and you could enjoy the calm and feel the fresh breeze on your face as you go into the wild. It’s very near to the trails around the Lester Beach and Grand Beach area. These guys even took us on a hike to Lester Beach and it was beautiful. We had various engaging conversations with Bob and Monica. We got served delicious breakfast for both the days keeping in mind our dietary preferences. Moreover, my wife exchanged various recipes with Monica and she even got plants to take home. Altogether, it was a wonderful trip and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pebble Springs BnB! Thanks, Bob and Monica!
Lovely time

It’s been a couple of weeks since we were there but have and will have wonderful, warm memories of our stay with Louise. Susan (my sister) were treated like family. Given a wonderful breakfast and Louise went out of her way to drive us to town for our event. great time!!
A Unique Experience

I spent a wonderful weekend at Prairie Paradise Retreat B&B & Spa. Jana Wise was the ultimate host preparing most wonderful meals and taking me on hikes and to explore the surroundings. If you would like a get away from the city without going too far and for a unique experience I highly recommend it 🙂
Simply the Best

Wow! The charm, the attention to detail, the beautiful artwork, the delicious breakfast, the comfortable bed, the great location and a most gracious hostess- this place has it all! I was so very lucky to spend two nights here at the end of September. With the beautiful fall colors, gorgeous weather and pampered like royalty here at 12th Street Studio B & B, it made my business trip seem a little less business and a lot more joyful! If you are coming to Brandon, this is a great place to stay while you enjoy this little city with a big heart!
Amazing Hospitality…so very helpful.

We felt at home instantly with the warmth of your welcome. Breakfast was so special. It was lovely to talk about your travels and those of your other guests.
Wunderbar!

We spent our Canadian family vacation with you and were very happy with the nicely appointed accommodations.
Breakfast was special – we could select from menu choices each day prior.
In addition, we were very pleased with the friendly manner and willingness to assist us – for example – in picking outings.
The time elapsed quickly; we would like to have stayed longer.
We pleasantly were surprised at how well we could converse in German.
Best wishes.
Delicious Blueberry Pancakes

I had the opportunity to stay with Christine & Reinhard for a week while on a business trip to Winnipeg at the end of January. Reinhard gave me a tour of the house upon my arrival and showed me how to operate the elevator should I need it (very simple should one have mobility issues), main door access code, and we had a wonderful discussion about the home’s architecture and construction which I was very interested in.
The rooms are quiet, very clean, and comfortable, with comprehensive written instructions on how to operate the various TV functions.
Not being familiar with the city, a map and a list of nearby eateries was a most welcome touch to find in my room.
They welcomed me like family and we had the opportunity to converse on a variety of subjects over many delicious breakfasts.
Christine’s delicious blueberry pancakes (blueberries hand-picked earlier in the year) could not be equaled in the finest restaurant anywhere! A menu with multiple choices was presented to me in the evening for breakfast the next day…you will not be disappointed with any of the selections. They are all delicious. Breakfast was served in the dining room and a blazing fire in the wood stove greeted me each morning as I sat down. As I was the only guest that week, breakfast time was flexible to accommodate my schedule.
Off-street parking from a quiet street was straightforward and a plug-in was available for those non-tropical Winnipeg nights if needed. If you are returning in the evening keep an eye out for the deer that wander the area.
I will certainly stay here again when in Winnipeg. More gracious hosts will not found anywhere, and Aspen Woodlands B&B has my recommendation and endorsement. Thank You for a Great Stay!!

A home away from home (with treats!)

Freshly baked scones, gorgeous rooms, and art on the walls that deserves hang (and in some cases, does) in a museum exhibition. I could not have been happier or more comfortable staying at the 12th Street Studio. The proprietors are friendly and helpful, the location is off the beaten path but close to all the major attractions, and I was genuinely sorry to continue on to Winnipeg where I knew all that awaited me was a Fairmont Hotel (and that’s saying something).
Charming, Thoughtful Hosts with an Excellent B&B

My husband and I much enjoyed two nights’ accommodation and two breakfasts with Christine and Reinhard in their beautiful, newly built, well-planned, immaculate home. We arrived on a Saturday after visiting the nearby Assiniboine Park Zoo. At a side entrance, Reinhard and his youngest granddaughter welcomed us. Reinhard then explained the code entry system to us so we could return whenever we wished that evening. We accessed their self-contained, well-lit, very quiet Gardenview suite on the second floor via an impressive maple staircase but could have used a nearby lift. We then chose selections from their breakfast menu before leaving to see a play downtown.
Christine’s culinary expertise was much in evidence the next two mornings. We heartily recommend the cheese blintzes but really, you can’t go wrong with any of the delightful choices! When we returned relatively late on Sunday evening, our hard-working hosts were still in the kitchen. Our lengthy conversation with them then felt like a conversation with long-term friends so added to the overall pleasure of our visit.
We will certainly return here on our next trip to Winnipeg!
Great photo opportunities

The Staff House in Seven Sisters, just a few steps from the powerdam, and a short drive to the Whiteshell Park. Walking across the dam and seeing the amazing view on either side was , well, powerfull! Great breakfast, great hosts! Thank you!
Welcoming and comfortable

My mother and I recently stayed at Raven’s Nest. Vince and Lenora welcomed us into their home with open arms. The home is clean and the rooms are comfortable. There is a backyard to enjoy as well.
We were travelling to trace our family history and they very knowledgeable about the area and because we stayed there we feel we learned more about the area than we would have otherwise. We enjoyed our stay. The hosts are very accommodating and took time to ensure our stay was comfortable. If you are travelling to this area I recommend staying there!
“Whole Experience was Exceptional”

We very much enjoyed staying at the Aspen Woodlands Bed and Breakfast. The whole experience was exceptional. Everything about the beautifully finished bedroom with ensuite was very comfortable, including the bed. We appreciated the warm hospitality and the delicious breakfast. We highly recommend this B & B and will stay again should we be traveling to Winnipeg.
Kind Regards,
Paul & Lorie
Words are NOT Enough, you need to experience this B and B for yourself!

Wow, I just stayed at this wonderful bed and breakfast retreat, and cannot find enough words to express what a great experience this was. Your hostess/owner, spa manager, gourmet chef, Jana, is an amazing lady, the hardest working gal I have ever met. No task is too small for her, and there is nothing that she hasn’t thought of and offers to her guests. Before you go to bed Jana shows you her breakfast menu, and you can have whatever you stomach desires, and it is extensive, and what a breakfast she serves up. It was amazing, just come with a good appetite as her portions are very big, maybe a jog in the country or around her farm before brekkie might be a good idea!! The beyond clean swimming pool and surrounding deck area is an amazing area to relax and enjoy the quiet of the countryside. She has an amazing orchard and if you are there when the fruit is ready for picking I’m sure Jana would love for you to sample it. An addition to her retreat is a authentic tepee up on a hill overlooking the farm, where you can have a bonfire, sit on a real tree stump, and experience a small sample of the life of First Nation people, Jana has definitely done her research, children would love this experience! So if you are thinking of getting away from the city, or need a great place to stay in rural Manitoba do not hesitate to give Jana a call. Well done, Jana!
COVID-SAFE STAY
I spent five nights here September 28-October 2, 2020 and felt very well protected by COVID-19 protocols the owners have in place. The entire house is served by continuously running air exchange for good ventilation. The second floor is only used for guests, with private doors to two suites and ensuite accessible bathrooms. I used the elevator to prevent contact with stair railings. Breakfast is served in the lobby on that floor and the hosts wear masks to do so. There is beverage equipment and a small frig for guest use. All interactions have everyone wearing masks or are at distance. Disinfection of all surfaces touched is routine. The views from my bedroom were peaceful. The hosts are very welcoming. Highly recommended!
Great hospitality
Thank you for your hospitality and company. I enjoyed the stay and conversation.
Lovely property and great hospitality

We very much enjoyed an afternoon and morning with Miles and Mavis. The setting of their property is stunning and the welcome extended by our hosts was second to none! We have stayed in B & Bs in many countries and this one would be right up there with the best. Many thanks folks…we will be back.
Wonderful way to end our summer

Just a note to thank you both for your wonderful hospitality. We feel so incredibly blessed to have crossed paths with you. Your house is beautiful, warm, and very comfortable. Your cooking is extraordinary, delicious, and presentation is out of this world. We will share our story of how we came to meet you both and what a wonderful way it was to end our summer. I hope to see you next year and in the meantime. Safe travels, wishing you a bountiful harvest from your garden, and all the best to your family.

Absolutely Loved our Stay!

We started our explore Northern Manitoba summer vacation with 2 nights at the Miles from Home B&B. We have stayed at B&B’s in many provinces and found this one to be a gem. Breakfast was a true variety fruit, pancakes, bacon, sausages, omelettes, eggs any way you would like and Mavis’ homemade cinnamon buns were amazing! Miles and Mavis have a wonderful home and property to share, you don’t have to go far to enjoy the water, stars, nature and life! The kids were right at home and loved having breakfast watching the hummingbirds, spending time on the water with the paddle board and floating island and ending a day of exploring in the hot tub watching the Robin’s nest. After the kids were in bed we enjoyed relaxing and chatting with our hosts on the deck watching the sunset. We have already recommended this B&B to family and friends.
A comfortable and pleasant stay with friendly hosts
I really enjoyed my stay at Bob and Margaret’s. Their house is immaculate and quiet with a beautiful garden sloping down to the River. I had a bedroom, small study, and my own bath, so it was really more of a suite! I also appreciated the wireless internet which worked well. Breakfast every day was delicious and varied featuring treats like tomatoes from the garden and home baked bread. Best of all, Bob and Margaret are friendly, interesting, and solicitous hosts, who are also happy to leave you be if that’s what you desire. I highly recommend them.
The Best Place to Stay in Winnipeg

We were delighted to find something rare — truly handicapped-accessible accommodations with shower seating, adjustable and hand-held showerheads, grab bars and even an elevator to the other floors in the house. The house is wonderfully airy and immaculate. It is accompanied by a large back yard complete with a kitchen garden, the produce of which often finds it way to breakfasts that are to die for.
The house is located directly across the street from Assiniboine Forest and within bicycling distance to the entrance to Assiniboine Park and Zoo. Since we were visiting Winnipeg for the Canada 150 celebrations at the Park this was ideal.
To top it all off Reinhard and Christine are fabulous hosts. In addition to those scrumptious breakfasts they helped us with our luggage, provided a list of nearby restaurants, happily described the points of interest in a town they clearly love, were able to work with US currency and even supplied ginger ale to help alleviate an upset stomach.
As far as we are concerned, Aspen Woodlands is the best place to stay in Winnipeg.
Enjoyable stay

It was an very enjoyable stay. They are very friendly and helpful B & B hosts. The accommodations were spacious, private, clean, quiet. The breakfasts were delicious. I certainly look forward to my next stay.
You are on our stay list for Winnipeg
Just a little note to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay with you at your B&B. You are on our stay list for Winnipeg, and we have recommended your B&B to friends. Good luck. Keep up the good work.

By Far the Best B&B in Canada
If you are looking for a old Victorian home that most call quaint, with a small bathroom, a bed with a bit of a sag, and a basic breakfast Aspen Woodlands is NOT for you!
If you are looking for a gorgeous place, hand built with quality work, an unique staircase, massive rooms with great bathrooms and breakfasts to die for then Aspen Woodlands IS for you.
You can walk to aspen woodlands–they are across the street from the Aspen Woodlands! You can walk to Assiniboine Zoo. You can walk to Assiniboine Park. You can walk to decent restaurants.
It’s an east drive to the sites downtown. An easy drive to the Mint. And it is a simple, almost direct drive, to and from the airport.
Reinhard and Christine are wonderful hosts.
Don’t think another thought, don’t look at other places, just book at Aspen Woodlands and enjoy probably the best bed and breakfast in Canada.
A little known gem in the Interlake!…

Skipper’s Lodge is very convenient location to Gimli & Lake Wpg, but also to Teulon and Stonewall. Bird lovers’ paradise! Tons of privacy, and such superb hosts.
Great place for a family stay

We were in Winnipeg for four days, and needed a place that would accept three adults and one toddler. We made a perfect choice. Our hosts were caring, aware, and attentive as needed (and not intrusive). The food was excellent – lots of choices for breakfast! The rooms were pristine and large, and were cleaned daily (really – a lot of work for our hosts!). The location was quiet, and, despite its location, close to where we needed to go while in Winnipeg.
I would highly recommend this B&B for anyone who would rather be in a Bed and Breakfast than in a hotel.
A lovely weekend at Miles from Home B and B

My mom and I stayed at Miles from Home B & B for a weekend in July. We loved it! We were craving peace, quiet and relaxation and we got it! Miles and Mavis’ home is beautiful: gorgeous yard shaded by lovely old trees right on Lake Manitoba. Our room and bed were really comfortable. We enjoyed reading and napping in their sunroom and eating delicious breakfasts (including homemade pancakes with freshly-picked wild saskatoon berries) in their dining room while looking out at the lake.
Miles and Mavis are friendly, generous, welcoming and accommodating. We felt right at home; like we were being hosted by friends not new acquaintances. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast!
Wonderfully appointed home and art gallery

My stay with Amy at the 12th Street Studio Art Gallery and B & B. was most enjoyable and relaxing. The art is local, and nicely situated throughout the incredibly restored home. My bedroom was very comfortable and quiet with all the amenities provided. I enjoyed a morning walk throughout the beautiful treed neighbourhoods around this b & b and came back for a lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, muffins, yogurt and freshly brewed coffee.
I look forward to future visits when other art exhibitions are shown. The b & b is centrally located so that you can walk to most attractions in central Brandon.
A little piece of Heaven

I have had the pleasure of going to Prairie Paradise twice in the past 1 1/2 years. I spent a night there on my own in March of 2016 and went with a friend for a day in July 2017. Both times Jana Wise was an amazing hostess. She has opened her home up to countless strangers whom I have no doubt leave considering her a friend as I now do… this B&B offers so many different amenities to choose from while visiting Jana….. and the location is absolutely beautiful…. you feel more relaxed than ever the moment you start driving up the driveway just from the beautiful scenery surrounding it!!!! This B&B truly is paradise tucked away in the middle of the prairies. I’ve already booked my next visit…and will continue to go back and visit Jana whenever I feel the need to escape from reality for a little while and enjoy a little bit of heaven right here in our own backyard!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very comfortable and welcoming

I stayed three nights and could not felt more comfortable and welcomed. The room, bathroom, and whole house is kept very clean and well supplied with anything needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Very quiet and beautiful setting. The host is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
Enjoyable Stay!

We would highly recommend staying at this place. The hosts are warm and welcoming and the scenery is beautiful. You are served hot, flavorful breakfasts that are generous in portion. We found are stay to be overall very enjoyable…
Will Recommend Your B&B

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to lively, liveable Winnipeg, with all its history, amenities and attractions.
A special highlight was our stay at Aspen Woodlands Bed and Breakfast ….a stunning, comfortable modern home close to parks, bike trails and hubs. Best of all was the warm welcome provided by our hosts, Christine and Reinhard …. it’s hard to imagine kinder or more helpful people. Their suggestions and directions on exploring the city were useful and rewarding.
And as for the breakfasts …… superb! Christine, you rate 5 Michelin stars!
I hope our paths cross again; meanwhile, we will recommend Aspen Woodlands Bed and Breakfast to any potential Winnipeg travellers.
See You Again – Hopefully Soon!

Dear Christine and Reinhard,
Thank you so much for your hospitality and thoughtfulness.
We had a wonderful stay in your beautiful B&B.
We will see you again – hopefully soon!
Truly an art gallery!

We had a great stay with Amy at the studio/gallery. An historically accurate “century plus” home, excellent breakfast and handy for our needs in Brandon. Comfortable and homey!
Thank you

We arrived home safely. Our children said it was the best experience they have had since coming to Canada.

Amazing Experience

We are so pleased with our recent stay at Watchi Bay B and B . Everything is so clean , very hospitable environment. Kelly and Anisa are so accommodating, always asking what else you need, The fruit trays are so fresh, and the homemade biscuits where a fave. The muffins were fresh and tasty. Love the private entrance area also . Stayed for a week and will definitely return. Loved pulling into the yard and seeing the whole family outside having a snowball fight. Highly recommend ,
Thank you for having us

Feels Like a Country Road

As a resident of a large city, I’m so accustomed to living in close quarters. It has been such a pleasure to spend one week at Aspen Woodlands Bed and Breakfast. Very clean and spacious, quiet and comforting, it gave me just what I needed. The B&B faces an urban forest & feels like a country road although it is in the city. Sometimes at night you will see deer crossing. The owners, Christine and Reinhard, couldn’t be more amiable and hospitable. The breakfasts are beyond description, so absolutely delicious. The only challenging moment is the point of departure, for it feels impossible to leave. I envision returning to Aspen Woodlands B&B – a nurturing escape. In short, this place is highly recommended! 5 stars!
Rustic Farm Home, Excellent Breakfast! Great Hostess!

Jana is a hard working lady, who goes beyond the normal to make you feel at home and welcome! The accommodations were quaint and very clean! Jana was very helpful in assisting with travel directions and route planning. All this after she fed us a top notch breakfast! Thank you Jana! I hope to return for another visit this summer season! Defenately I will be staying at Prairie Paradise Retreat again! See you soon!
Breakfasts Amazing

Christine and Reinhard,
Thank you so much for being such wonderful hosts. The surroundings were beatiful and the breakfasts amazing!
Blessings to you as you continue to serve others.
Will stay there again next time

I just wanted to thank you again for a wonderful stay at your B&B. My sister and I really enjoyed our stay at Aspen Woodlands. Some of our comments are as follows:
Clean, comfortable and lovely accommodations with incredibly delicious breakfasts.
Reinhard and Christine are lovely hosts that go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. We will stay there again next time we are visiting Winnipeg.

A beautiful Paradise

I spent August long weekend at Prairie Paradise Retreat and I want to share with the world what a wonderful place it is.
It is absolutely a must see place in Manitoba. What makes it even more fantastic is the host Jana. Jana is just an angel in that Prairies Paradise. She will make you feel like home. Make sure you try the spa options she has to offer, they are much better than anything you can find in the city. I came back to Winnipeg like a new person. Such an energizing, peaceful, and beautiful retreat!
Great Bed and Breakfast in the heart of The Pas

My daughter and I recently just spent two evenings at the Raven`s Nest in The Pas for the Northern Manitoba Tapper Festival. We loved our stay! Our hosts were awesome! They treated us like family. Their home was our home for two days. They were very accommodating. I would highly recommend this B and B.
Prior to our arrival, Vince kept in contact with me…in regards to finding out the information that I wanted about the festival before my arrival. When I arrived, he had my guide and trapper`s pins. We were ready to go out and see all of the events that we could!
We felt right at home!

Jana was a wonderful host and she made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We felt right at home because of her warm, easy going, friendly manner. Jana went the extra mile in more ways than one. The night we arrived, she drove us to the nearby village of Somerset and joined us for a special turkey dinner buffet being offered at one of the local restaurants. She shared a bottle of wine with us as we chatted together later, sharing stories. The choice of breakfast were amazing and all delicious and the rooms were lovely. Her home was charming with a character all its own. Her Day Spa would have been nice to treat ourselves to if we had had more time. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for an out of the way rural experience.
Wonderful Accommodations / Wonderful Hosts

We spent a weekend in this lovely home and enjoyed it immensely! The location is great, The gourmet breakfast was delicious. And how can you not love a hot tub under the stars! We fell in love with Louie (the chihuahua) and were amazed by Pepi (the Amazon parrot). Monica and Bob went over and above to make us comfortable and even help us in mapping out our day tripping plans (hiking).
To be honest, we visited this time because it is in such a beautiful setting …. but we will return to Pebble Springs because of its wonderful accommodations and more important … it’s wonderful hosts!
Highly recommend Pebble Springs for a Lake Winnipeg getaway!
Perfect stay, better than home!

Margaret and Bob offered generous and gracious hospitality. They provided a comfortable, safe environment, as well as supplied perfect ample information and recommendations on the local area for walking trails, garage art installations, and local, excellent eateries. Their beautiful home provided a glorious garden/river setting, the privacy of a suite, and delicious breakfasts.
Wonderful stay
Thank you again to all three of you. I felt very at home with you, and yours was my favourite B and B by miles. If I do return to Manitoba, I hope I can stay there for the whole visit. And, frankly, my experience at your place means another visit is more likely, because I know there is a good place to settle and absorb the best of where I am. Janet M. /UK
Relaxing getaway

My mom and I stayed at the Miles from Home B&B for a wonderful one-night getaway. The lakefront property is stunning with scenic views on clear, turquoise Lake Manitoba. We had our choice of seating to admire the views; on the wrap-around porch, screened porch, or on the lawn chair right by the water. The lake is extremely clean and the perfect temperature for a dip. We were very impressed by the on-site amenities including paddleboard, BBQ, and hot tub.
The rooms themselves were spotless, and the beds very comfortable. Mavis and Miles are wonderful, kind people and went our of their way to make sure we felt welcome and need not anything. They showed us a perfect spot for Sasktoon berry picking, and we headed home with buckets-full!
The breakfast was also delicious; Mavis made delclious gluten-free berry pancakes and was very accomodating of my dietary restrictions. We were also served bottomless hot coffee, juice, fruit, bacon, and yogurt. We have nothing but great things to say about this B&B, and we cannot wait to return for more relaxing, berry picking, and fishing. Thanks Miles and Mavis!
An Excellent Host

Jana is an excellent host who was very attentive to our needs. She asked us each evening what we would like to eat for breakfast and made us some great food as she is a very good cook. She even added some local cheese from the monastery and some boudin noir which were both very good. The house is in a very quiet scenic area with rolling hills. We even saw some deer one morning. There is also a nice modern bathroom with a large walk in shower. Jana was very engaging and informative. All in all a great stay and highly recommended.
We Give the B&B 5 Stars!

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. The choices for breakfast were fantastic, something for everyone, beautifully presented in a pleasant, sunny dining room.
They spend time ensuring that we had maps and directions to meet our touring needs.
We give the B&B 5 stars.
Thank you Reinhard and Christine for sharing your home with us during our visit.
Excellent weekend stay at The Staff House Bed and Breakfast Manitoba

Booked a 3 night weekend getaway June 2019 in Waters Edge Suite. Excellent place and would love to come back again. Great area to bring bicycles: Trans Canada Trail is literally out the front door and across a grassy yard. Easy gravel/dirt pathways for cycling/walk/hike for entire family.
Entire house is renovated (Natalie Suite nearly done, and 2 more new rooms forthcoming), rooms are brand new, bathrooms new and everything is clean. No noise from renos either.
Hosts asked what we wanted for breakfast the day before each time by running through a list of items and what time we wanted to eat. Typical food options they can make for you are: orange juice, pancakes, cold cereal, oatmeal (side toppings: brown sugar, coconut, raisins, pumpkin seeds), fresh fruit in yogurt bowl sprinkled with granola, bacon/ham/sausage and eggs, coffee, tea, milk, etc., and the signature daily staple is Fran’s toasted homemade sourdough bread (jam and peanut butter on the side). They can accommodate various diets just ask about it.
We were warmly greeted upon arrival just as Fran finished cutting the grass even though we were a few mins early. Coffee/tea station available 24 hrs and homemade cookies were available when we got there. Next day Fran baked a little cake!
They both work really hard on the house renos and it shows with tasteful paint and decor. Bathrooms have in floor heating, towel warmers, and the claw foot tub is 5.5 feet long. Asked if we wanted housekeeping which we declined. We were not really bothered or disturbed by the hosts, and we also had good conversations with them too. They let us borrow their personal bicycles, not usually done, so that was a neat/unexpected bonus. They have a canoe to borrow too. People stay here for weekend getaways, work stays during the week, reunions or weddings, and general tourists. Once 5 rooms are available this would be a great place for an entire wedding party or family to stay. Large common areas to gather, backyard fireplace and gazebo-tent.
Website photos are 95% accurate: they added flat screen TV and satellite in Waters Edge Suite and a nice old wooden dresser/mirror. Bookshelves in common area are crammed with various titles for browsing. Lots of places to sit. Common areas have TV/stereo, and Netflix/Apple TV box. Website indicates homemade yogurt but they don’t make it anymore. They are new B&B owners but with only 2 years or so in business they are seasoned professionals who genuinely want you to have a good time. Rick and Fran are happy to recommend immediate local activities and limited restaurant options. The town site has private property/houses, but there’s no trains or horns, no car traffic, no transport trucks, no hockey teams with kids running everywhere like hotels, no BS.
Honestly a great place to relax and recharge. Operates all year. Would gladly come back for another mini vacation!
Super!

We stayed here July 25 – 27 2019. Can’t say enough about what a great place to spend the weekend. It was very clean, spacious and welcoming. Our host Shannon was wonderful! We were so spoiled with a delicious breakfast every morning. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast???? we hope to be back next year!!
This Bed and Breakfast will exceed your expectations…..

We stayed for a weekend in July 2019 and had a very good experience. The house is just beautiful with lots of local artwork, extremely clean, very comfortable and private. Our hosts Bob and Monica were delightful and very eager to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Extra touches like the chilled lemon infused water in our own refrigerator, quality linens, towels and washroom supplies were very much appreciated. The garden down to the lake is immaculately tended and private. We were able to spend an entire evening watching the sun go down from their lake deck lounging on the sunbeds. Breakfasts, served outside on sunny mornings were delicious and very healthy. We plan on returning as this was such a great experience.
Nearby smaller white sand beaches were so quiet. This area has such a lot to offer, is very beautiful and really deserves a return trip.
A Seven Sisters Treasure
While looking for a close by birthday gift get away during this time of “stay vacations”, I came across The Staff House in the village of Seven Sisters. What a find! we have stayed in many B&B’s all over the world and here is this treasure in our own back yard. The house is magnificent, lovingly refurbished, bright and airy, full of antique treasures, and spotlessly clean. We felt warmly welcomed from the moment we stepped in the door. The Willow Room was perfect for us, large and beautifully appointed with a roomy en-suite, complete with the cadillac of showers.
It was great fun to explore the surrounding area of Seven Sisters, hiking the trails, picnicking by the waterfalls, gazing in awe at the powerful dam, and experiencing the ancient Petroforms of Bannock Point.
And the breakfasts! From the delectable fruit cups, the homemade sourdough toast, the main course….what to choose, what to choose!
Thank you Rick and Fran! The Staff House is a treasure.
Stay at a B&B on your next vacation!
