Enjoy a taste of quiet country living in our charming guest house.  The Thomas Bunn House (1862) located on the banks of the Red River can accommodate up to seven people.

Whether you want a private cozy getaway for two, a family holiday for up to seven, or an ideal location to access the fishing opportunities of the Red River and Lake Winnipeg, we offer you a fully equipped home including all the ingredients you need to make yourself a hearty breakfast.  We also try to accommodate your dietary needs.  Bedrooms and bathroom are on the second floor with an additional bathroom we affectionately call the Hobbit’s bathroom down the basement.

We offer a Smart TV, Cable TV and a DVD player.  There is Internet access so streaming is possible. Children are most welcome as are pets who are under control at all times.

Immerse yourself in the history of this heritage home built by Thomas Bunn who was a member of Louis Riel’s Council and the first provincial government.  This is of interest to heritage buffs and those into experiential tourism. The Thomas Bunn House is a Red River Heritage home ( one of the few in Manitoba open to the public).  The walls are stone which is a metre thick and there is lots of historic information for you to investigate.

After a day of activities you can relax in our comfortable screened porch, which has an adjacent Bar-B-Que.  You can stroll the spacious grounds and watch the antics of our resident alpacas, BlackBerry, Butterfly and Babette.  There is an outdoor fire pit for your enjoyment.

For the truly ambitious there are 4.5 kms of hiking and walking trails both in summer and winter.  We can provide snowshoes to assist you.  In summer we have a floating dock for fishing or just plain relaxing.  Many catfish are caught just off the dock.

We can provide information on self-guided historical tours and suggestions for daily outings including maps.  Guided fishing can be arranged by a qualified outfitter. Paul Munroe: (www.catdaddy.ca)

Located ten minutes from Selkirk and 45 minutes from downtown Winnipeg we are close to many Manitoba attractions such as the Canadian Museum of Human Rights, Marine Museum of Mb., Lower Fort Garry, Birds Hill Park and South Beach Casino.

Open year round, we are a perfect location for small groups and family gatherings.
