Accommodations- complete house includes 2 bedrooms, three piece bathroom with compost toilet, dining/living area, kitchenette. The original outhouse is restored and ready for use.
The Herdsman’s House (c.1880’s) is where the village cow herder lived and is set in rural surroundings in Neubergthal, an early Mennonite street village and national historic site in south-central Manitoba, Canada. Enjoy the warmth of the wood fired Russian Bake Heater, and try your hand at baking bread or pizza.
Your stay includes locally roasted coffee beans, a loaf of sourdough bread, and eggs from our chickens. Note: a Finnish wood fired sauna and deck are under construction with plans to open in November of 2021.
Local attractions include guided tours of the village of Neubergthal, Gallery in the Park and Sculpture Garden ( Altona), Fort Dufferin Historic Site, hiking and x country skiing in the Pembina Hills, Saturday Farmers Market in Altona, and the first MCC Thrift store in Canada
